So the other week, I went to another amazing Coventry Bloggers Event, arranged by the lovely Emily of Drained Beauty, this time at the Body Shop in Coventry City Centre.
I'll admit before I went to this event, my knowledge on the Body Shop was limited. I used to always get a gift set from there from an auntie every Christmas and I've followed them on Social Media for awhile now, but it's been awhile since I've tried anything by them. I had misconceptions that they were expensive and out of my price range, but how wrong I was.
Now onto the event itself!
Most of us met outside before the event, and I have to give a shout out to these girls. Some of them I've met quite a few times already and some I only first met at the event...but they are all amazing, friendly and encouraging people! They have restored my faith in the blogging community, and that's helping me to grow in confidence as a blogger.
When we entered the Body Shop, we were greeted by two lovely staff members, who showed us around the shop and were more than happy to answer any questions we had as we settled in and explored the shop. And asked us about our blogs... Which is always a nice thing when the people running the events show an interest in you, not just the potential promotion they could get out of you!
Once everyone had arrived and had a chance to explore the shop and take photos, it was time to explore the new products in more depth. Starting with their incredible new limited edition Banana bodycare range, inspired by their very popular banana haircare range.
There's three items in the range... a shower gel, a body butter and a body yogurt. This range smells unbelievablely good, a lot of people have said it smells like foam banana sweets, but to me it feels more like fresh bananas, but slightly sweeter, or like banana milkshake. I love all things banana, so this new range is definitely a firm favourite of mine, and I will stocking up!
The Body yogurt is a fantastic idea, all the goodness from the body butter but in a super fast drying formula... Yes please!! No more waiting around in your underwear waiting for your skin to dry before getting dressed, which is definitely a good thing with the changing seasons!
The next product we were told about was their new Mediterranean Almond Milk with Oats Instant Soothing Mask. It is an exfoliating mask especially for those with sensitive or dry skin. This will be super helpful in Winter when the cold dries out my skin and makes it irritable. I had some put on the back of my hand to test it, and I can definitely agree that is gentle and soothing on the skin. I have a sample of this that I can't wait to try next time I have a pamper evening.
They also showed us a few of their other skincare products, that all look exciting and I think I might be having a rejig of my skincare routine soon, and I'm especially interested in their peels.
The final new items we were told about where Make Up related, starting with the Matte Clay Powders. There's six shades in total, and is an 100% Vegan product for my Vegan lovelies out there. It provides full coverage and is suitable for any Skin type.
The next Make Up item they told us about was the Colour Crush Shine Lipsticks, which are the shine version of their Matte Lipsticks. There are ten beautiful shades so there's everyone should find a shade they love and they have a beautiful Rose scent. Sadly, I'm not a fan of shine lipsticks myself, I prefer a Matte formula, so I'll probably never try these myself, but if you're in the market for a new lipstick, definitely go and give these a swatch.
Overall, I had a great time at the event, from learning more about the brand, the amazing staff that hosted the night who were passionate about their products and willing to answer any questions we had, to seeing the lovely girls from Coventry Bloggers again.
We all received a goody bag at the end of the night, and we were able to purchase any items we wanted to and I definitely had to, especially since they had a 3 for 2 offer on that i simply couldn't resist! I will show what came in the goody bag and what I bought in another post very soon!
Have you tried any products from the Body Shop before? What's your favourite product?
