Mental Health Blog Series Intro.

Hey Lovelies,
Today's post is more of an introduction post than anything. For awhile I've been wanting to start a new, long running series on the blog but haven't felt ready to start it. But I finally feel ready to start it, and because it will be quite personal at times, I wanted to be as ready to talk about such things.
The topic? Mental Health. I've got a lot of history with mental health, whether it be my own personal experience, or from my friends and family. And it's such an important issue in today's society, we all know someone who has struggled with mental health at some point, or we may be that person ourselves. And everyone is different, everyone goes through it in a different way and everyone has their own way of dealing with it.
And I've wanted to start a series as a way to help others in the same situation and to help break through the taboo...because it's getting more and more attention now but it's still sometimes feels (for me anyway, …

Hey It's OK #2

Image
Hey Beauties,

Happy Friday! I thought I'd do another 'Hey It's Ok' post as I love doing them and I haven't done one since I started the blog!

So let's go!

1) If your more excited about Halloween than Christmas atm...sweets and an excuse to dress up? I'm in!

2) If your boot collection is over flowing...it's getting cold, we have to keep our feet cosy and stylish!

3) If you don't miss Summer...cosy autumn nights are always better!

4) To indulge your inner geek (or not so inner if we're talking about me) every now and then with awesome collectables...cuddly Gizmo anyone?

5) If you count down the days till your favourite series return...only 10 days to go till Walking Dead S5!

6) To still not understand the ending to Lost...I'm re-watching and still confused!

Till the next time,

Gemma. ..xXx..

24th Birthday Haul

Image
Hey Beauties,

I wasn't planning on doing a birthday haul as I didn't really get enough to show in a post, as the majority of my presents were flat related stuff like a fridge or money towards the house...the perks of being a grown up running your own home!

But I did get a few really nice bits from my mum so I thought I'd post them up anyway in case you were interested.

My mum mainly picked me up a few little bits from Avon, because she's getting me one of the essentials for my flat which is also one of the most expensive things needed when you have a flat to furnish but I love everything she got me, and i'm lucky to have such a lovely mum :) And how cute is my mini birthday cake?!

What I got: Avon Luck perfume set. Two crystal bracelets (tigers eye & rose quartz..my favourites). Moustache necklace and bracelet. Avon Blemish Clearing Tinted Moisturiser.

Have a great weekend lovelies!

Till the next time, Gemma. ..xXx..

Lush Review: Dream Cream Hand & Body Lotion.

Image
Hey Beauties,

I am on a blogging roll atm (It's Tuesday and I'm scheduling posts) and today I have one of my favourite type of posts, Lush Reviews! It has been absolutely months since I last bought something from Lush, but their Christmas range is out tomorrow and of course this means a trip to Lush is in the pipeline so I can finally get my hands on a new bottle of Snow Fairy(even though the bottle I bought last year has only been used twice as I wanted to save it...now I can use it all the time yay!) and see what new goodies they have for me this year! So I thought I'd celebrate this by posting about one of the things I picked up in my last trip to Lush a few months ago, Dream Cream.

What Lush Say:

This simple cream works like a dream on upset skin: cooling and soothing ingredients like oat milk, rose water and chamomile blue oil calm down hot and itchy skin. That’s why it’s one of our bestsellers, with many of you telling us it gives great relief from eczema. We steep oats …

October Goals.

Image
Hey Beauties,

Since it's the start of a new month, I thought i'd do another Goals post. I haven't done one since June so it's about time I come up with some new goals for the month ahead! So let's get stuck in!

1. Read more.

Now that it's getting chiller, it's the perfect time for me to get back into reading. I used to read non-stop but it's been such a busy few months I just hardly have the time...even though my book pile still kept growing! So I'm gonna look forward to some chilly evenings wrapped up with a cuppa and a book at hand!

2. Improve my Blog Photography.

Using only my phone at the moment, I've noticed sometimes I've been abit lazy with the photos I've been taking for the blog and ended up not using them when I went back and looked over them because I didn't like the quality of them etc. So I'm gonna start working on making them better, working out things like what background to use etc and what angles work better. And then …

'What greater gift than the love of a cat'

Image
Hey Beauties,

Wise Words from the legend that is Charles Dickens...there's nothing greater than being a cat owner and that bond you form with them.

As you'll know from my Instagram, you'll know I have a black & white kitty called Riley, who is also currently a mummy cat to four adorable kittens who are almost a month old. And I thought as a little Friday treat, I'd post a little something about them and a few pictures of the cuties!

It was a hard decision for me to get a cat again. After having to re-home Ridley at the start of the year, I was genuinely heartbroken as I had her from a kitten and loved her to pieces...she was the one thing that kept me smiling most days. But I was missing the company of a cat and missed the bond you share with your cat. I was going to buy a gorgeous white male kitten but then heartbreak hit again when my best friend's cat died at only 2 years old (the cat in the photo below), and I knew I still wasn't ready for a cat.

But then a…

Review: Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner.

Image
Hey Beauties,

I have my first review in ages for you today, one I've been meaning to posting for ages! I've been using the Supercat Eyeliner for almost a year now, and it's still my go to liquid eyeliner! It's also the first Soap and Glory product I picked up, and because it was so good it made me want to try even more products from them.

What Soap & Glory Say:

Featuring our unique INKJET™ colour release & Gloss–Fix™ finish to give a rich and intense colour. The foolproof marker tip creates two looks - Fine point for a natural look or thick edge adds a dramatic flash! Uses long lasting, long wear pigments plus a high percentage of carbon black for intense colour release.

Price:  £6.00

Where to buy: Boots store nationwide and online here.

My Thoughts:

Me and liquid eyeliner have always be a match made in hell...I could never get the line perfect without smudging it or doing one eye too thick. And even if I could, they always lost their colour and went a greyish black i…
